Essential Fatty Acids
Primivia Flax
Additional Information
Flaxseed oil supplies a 3 : 1 ratio of α-linolenic acid (omega-3) to linoleic acid (omega-6). The omega-3 oils are important precursors of anti-inflammatory prostaglandins. Flax seed particulate containing protective lignan components is retained in the oil. Cold-pressing of flax seeds and natural caramel color in the softgel protects against heat and light–induced oxidation of fatty acids. This should be used in conjunction with Primivia Borage™ to maintain healthy omega-6 to omega-3 ratios in the body.
Primivia Borage
Additional Information
Linoleic acid, the parent omega-6 fatty acid, is the predominant essential fatty acid in each of our trillions of cell membranes, both around the cell and inside the cell. There is 4 times more parent omega-6 oils in the body compared to parent omega-3 oils. Because omega-6 oils are found in some vegetable oils, it is recommended to take this oil as a supplement in equal combination with Primivia Flax™ or Primivia Flax/Borage™. This product also contains GLA. It is cold-pressed and free of hexane and other solvents. Vitamin E is added to maintain freshness.
Primivia Flax/Borage
Additional Information
This product combines unrefined organically grown flax seed oil and borage seed oil in one softgel. For optimal proper ratios of omega-6 to omega-3 oils, this should be taken in conjunction with equal amounts of Primivia Borage™.
