Deciding What Weight Loss Options Work for You

August 17th, 2010 · 7:27 AM

I’m looking at your website and love it…… however my problem is needing to lose weight and keep it off. There is so much information to go through but I have no idea what would be specific for me. I live in Mesa, AZ. Is there someone here that you could recommend that could assess my needs?

Thank you for the compliment :)  We will be offering an on-line program to get healthy and get your weight into balance, called Ease on Down. It will be launched in the next few weeks, so watch for my announcements and emails as the date approaches.

Regarding your question about a doc in Arizona, I don’t know of a person in Arizona to recommend, although the state is very open to alternative-minded physicians and naturopaths.  However, I’d love to meet you and work with you, and Utah is a short (and scenic) drive away.

Hi. I live in Mesa and am a personal trainer and coach (my degree is in Exercise Science and Physiology). I follow a lot of what Dr. Gardner teaches and believe what he teaches to be true. I would love to be of service - I do primarily in-home sessions. I also go to a really good Naturopath office on Higley and Southern. Good luck and let me know if I can help you out.

I have congestive heart failure and peripheral neuropathy plus sleep apnea, all of which are “controlled.” My activity level is hard to define: I can have a large dinner planned, presented, cleaned up after, and still have energy, but I always have a heavy feeling on my chest. My energy level is not the same as before these problems but I keep going. I don’t feel real good and so don’t “exercise” other than my planned social activities and family. I am 68 years old, have a CRT implant, have elevated blood pressure (157 over 97 - taken 2 days ago), am on meds, and just keep going. My family doesn’t know how I feel, even though I have told them. I don’t want to be pitied or waited on. I just want to keep going and feel better. I am 5′8″, weigh more than I should but have a hard time losing weight for several reasons. Help!

Maralyn, For chest pain–if your shoulders are pulled forward, consider getting a massage therapist to release your pectoralis minor muscles in your chest. Also, read the list of side effects of the blood pressure medication you are on to see what it may do to your energy and chest tightness. We will soon release the Ease on Down weight management program, which will help with weight issues. The reduction of carbohydrates is still the single single most important diet change that needs to take place. For natural means for blood pressure control, try CoQ10 200 mg, magnesium 600 to 1000 mg, and D-ribose 250 to 500 mg, daily.

    Dear Dr Gardner,
The most recent diagnostic told that i had thoracic outlet syndrome and fibromyalgia.

Before this thru a course of 1 year have been diagnosed with carpel tunnel syndrome, Tendonitis, and so on.

I have water retention and have gained 16kg in 3 months. I am at 76kg a wait i have never been in my life. am always around 57-65kg.

i have had severe pain on my left hand and aching and heavy feelings on my left arm til the shoulder joint.

I have done all the possible bloodtest over 25 of them.
The only thing it showed was that my ESR value was between 55-65 each time i took a reading.

What do you think is going on with me?

    Pls help.
