How to Get Ahold of Me

August 16th, 2010 · 9:49 AM

I have a 48 year old brother with diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc. He is in constant pain and never gets a decent night’s sleep. He also suffers from depression,. Though he manages to put on a good front for church responsibilities, he hasn’t worked in years. Are you taking new patients? Do you accept most insurance plans? I would love to refer him to you. He lives in SLC.

I am in the process of transitioning my practice to a site in Sandy called Healing Solutions Medical Center. It is now open for appointments.

Because the majority of what I do is outside the box of the insurance industry, pharmaceutical industry and conventional medicine, we cannot accept insurance. However, the billing codes can be used to get personal reimbursement as an out-of-network provider. Call 801-565-3755 to get more information.

By the way, just as a little side note, here’s how I look at insurance reimbursement: Your body is the only one you get.  It’s worth paying whatever it takes to be healthy and well–even if that means out of pocket expenses.  You’d do the same if your car broke down, right?  (You can replace your car, but not your body)  Just a little food for thought :)  Dr. Stan

I agree with Dr. Gardner. I think whatever you have to pay to get good and effective (emphasis on the word effective) medical advice is worth the money.
I have introduced to Dr. Gardner and others a new technology in supplementation that addresses the underlying cause of the degenerative diseases your brother has. Ask him about Protandim. The academic world is in a ferver over this nutrigenomic product ABC Primetime did a piece on a few years ago. Oxidative stress is the underlying cause of degenerative disease. Ask Dr. Gardner about it. He can explain oxidative stress to you. If you want to see the ABC Primetime piece, go to http://www.lifevantage.com and it will be on their webpage.

Another way to get insurance to pay for things is a little bit sneaky. Find an MD or DO that doesn’t mind if you go to an alternative doctor. Have Dr. Gardner write up a prescription and then have the regular doctor rewrite it on his prescription pad.

My ND used to do this for me and my DO was happy to help out.

Suz, Your idea is both legal and ethical. The sooner and more closely conventional medicine and alternative medicine work together, the better off patients will be. This should work for lab work and for prescriptions.

Could you recommend a thorough book on herbal remedies, and like topics? I have found there are many cutsey but not very thorough books out there. I’d like one that can really be used for my home self care, that is accurate and uptodate.
    Thanks, Sharon
