I had my 6 mo check yesterday and am thrilled to say that I can d/c the metformin and Toprol xl from my pharmaceutical regimen.
Thanks for your support and encouragement and intellect!
My doctor says I can get all the vitamins and minerals I need from my food. What is your opinion on this?
I used to say the same thing to my patients, back in the days before I studied healthy alternatives. It is the party line of allopathic medicine, although that is starting to change. Here's the bottom line, and I'll follow up with some info on what allopaths are now doing:© 2008 Stan Gardner, M.D. | Disclaimer | RSS Feed

saw video on symptoms of low thyroid. I have them. Now what do I do about it? I don’t want to take the thyroid meds.

Carol, The first step is to get on adequate doses of iodine, at least 12 mg per day. You also need to be healthy–no sugar and processed food, and a potent multi-vitamin, as many of the steps the body takes in making thyroid hormone require the vitamin and mineral co-factors to be efficient. If you need to be on thryoid medications to supplement what your body makes, I use the crude extract from the thyroid gland, Armour thyroid, Westhroid or Naturethroid.
