A Damaged Immune System

March 23rd, 2010 · 7:53 AM

I was just newly diagnosed w/ XMRV and my immune system is very damaged. full of toxins, pathogens, viruses, bacterias. etc. SEVERE all over body pain, bad stomach inflammation…more. using probiotics + and only getting worse daily. I’m very ill!

Xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus (XMRV) indicates an immune system problem.  Building the immune system is one of the strengths of alternative medicine.

For the most part, all viruses and bacteria are ‘opportunistic’ infections.  If the immune system was strong, there would be not ‘opportunity’ for any of these infections to get a hold and cause disease.  Prevention and early treatment consists of:

  • 1. cleaning up the diet (no sugar-which directly decreases the immune system-or processed food, real food that is found around the outside of the store)
  • 2. potent basic supplement with essential fatty acids
  • 3. Extra doses of vitamin C (up to 10,000 mg per day) and grape seed extract, echanacea, oil of oregano.

If the immune system is more compromised, more aggressive measures include using immune boosters like beta-glucan, colostrums, mushrooms (maitake and sheitake) may be helpful.  At this point (and it sounds like you may be past this point), you really need a physician that can do nutritional IVs, with high dose vitamin C (20 grams over 3 hours).

Laboratory evaluation of your immune system and other ‘opportunistic’ organisms (like Mycoplasma, C. pneumoniea) may be important.  Lyme disease definitely needs to be considered.

A new study has confirmed that vitamin D plays an important role in activating the immune defense system.
