When it rains it pours. Where will the madness end? I just read an interesting article on Natural News that verifies and amplifies the information I shared with you last night. Zetia has been shown to be damaging to liver, and the “testing” that supposedly proved it was safe was in actuality only done for a maximum of 12 weeks, with 11 times the health problems in the trial groups as opposed to the placebo.
The Nutrition Institute of America (NIA), in its report “Death by Medicine,” (October, 2003), stated the following: “Our estimated 10-year total of 7.8 million iatrogenic [doctor-induced] deaths is more than all the casualties from all the wars fought by the U.S. throughout its entire history.”

My doctor says I can get all the vitamins and minerals I need from my food. What is your opinion on this?
I used to say the same thing to my patients, back in the days before I studied healthy alternatives. It is the party line of allopathic medicine, although that is starting to change. Here's the bottom line, and I'll follow up with some info on what allopaths are now doing:

Yikes! Liver problems with Zetia?? I have been on it for several years since I [and my doc and a reumatism specialist together] realized my increasingly aching muscles and bending fingers were a result, tho rare, of statin use [had been on several kinds!] for lowering cholesterol levels. I have lost weight, gotten off most salt, most fat, and as much of the cholesterol-laden foods as possible. I still nibble a little - like a bit of cheese, but only a little - etc, but liver problems from Zetia? My new Dr. [we are temporarily in another state - LDS mission] recommended a return to statins if I could stand it, and said garlic was for seasoning food. I still take garlic, niacin, Zetia, and a lot of calcium with D plus plenty of non-fat dairy foods because I like them. I would really like more info on Zetia, and also on something called Lovaza that a quad-bypass-surviver friend recommended for lowering tryglycerides.
